What is a Google Chat Webhook?

A Google Chat webhook is a simple, automated way to send messages from your applications directly into a Google Chat space.

By setting up a webhook, you can push information in real-time, keeping your team updated on important events and actions without manual intervention.

Setting up Google chat webhook

Follow these steps to set up a Google Chat web hook and start sending important notifications directly to your team’s chat:

1. In your Google chat window, click New chat and then Create a space. Name your space and click Create.

2. Click on your chat space's name and click on Apps & integrations -> Add webhooks. Name your webhook and click Save.

Integrating Google chat space with Serviceform

Once the web hook is set up, you can easily integrate Serviceform tools with Google chat space :

2. Navigate to your Serviceform dashboard and click Settings -> Integrations -> All integrations.

3. Click on Connect under Google chat and name your integration.

4. Click on Step 1 :

  • Select the tool from which you want the leads to be sent to your chat space.
  • Select All flows if you want the lead to be sent regardless of the flow or Single flow if you want the lead from the flow you have specified.
  • Paste the Google chat webhook URL that you copied previously and click on Continue.

5. In step 2, select Send leads as the trigger and Create an event as the event. Click on Continue.

6. Map your message with Title, Subtitle and Body. Click on Continue.

7. Click on Test integration.

8. Navigate back to your Google chat space and check your first test message.
